Route 66-Day 14

Day In LA

View Route 66 on dpareyouwithme's travel map.

Well this is the last day of the blog. I have enjoyed writing each day and chronicling our trip across the country in the last two weeks.

Today we didn’t have an agenda which was nice. Got up around 8am and got free hot breakfast at the hotel, which hasn’t happened at all during the entire trip due to Covid protocols.

Then we headed to the outdoor pool to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather.

We left around 10am and headed back to the room to get ready for lunch on Manhattan Beach with my friends Allie and John. Watched the Cardinals win finally.

Headed to the beach for lunch and it took forever to find a parking space due to it being Saturday. We finally found a parking space on the street, but we had to feed the meter every 30 minutes,

We went to Nicks Restaurant right off the beach that Allie and John recommended. It was a great meal. We both got the French Dip and it was fantastic. It was great to catch up with Allie and John, they were some of my best friends in high school and they have been out in LA for about 9 years now. Great to reminisce and catch-up on good times. I am so happy that we got to meet up.

Then we headed down to see the beach after lunch and put our toes in the water and grab some photos.

After lunch, we headed back to get packed up for tomorrow. We went back to the pool for the last few hours of sunlight and now we are back in the room for the evening. We head out tomorrow morning to drop of the rental car and catch our flight home.

This has been a once in a lifetime trip with my Dad that I will never forget, I am so happy that I got to do this trip with him and hope others are able to have this experience with their loved ones in the future.

I hope everyone enjoyed reading the blog. That is all for now. God Bless.
